The next TMI Event will be the 'TMI Hot Topic 2013'
** STOP PRESS - 90 delegates already **
This will be in Birmingham on Wednesday May 22nd, with a Digital & Mobile theme, and a few 'warm-up' events on the afternoon and evening of the 21st.
It remains an exhilating and demanding time for destinations. Technology continues to change by the hour, mobile access to the internet is forecast to overtake computer access any day, and traditional models are being constantly challenged to be replaced by new ones that may - or may not - provide all the answers.
In parallel, some destinations rely on online bookings whilst others don't go near them, membership is central to many but ignored by others, and then there are all the legal worries about cookies, cancellation clauses, etc.
Who'd be a Destination Manager?
This year's Hot Topic has the following key features:
- By way of a 'Thank You' to members, paid-up TMI Members can bring up to 2 non-member guests at the special rate of just £80 plus VAT. This is intended to help members bring key team members from their digital teams or boards to join the discussion.
- There will be a facilitated 'no supplier' session where destination staff and their boards can openly share their questions and concerns without any commercial suppliers present and without fear of falling foul of procurement processes.
- We will explore Social Content, Data Ownership, Booking Options, Latest Initiatives in Birmingham and - importantly - Issues in Maintaining Your Destination's Online Reputation.
- For those arriving early, we plan a study trip into Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, as well as informal networking at the Old Joint Stock Theatre.
The draft programme can now be seen here -please don't delay in booking your places now.
